ROBERT SCHUMANN

PIANO MUSIC SERIES

Cho has established a concert series of piano works by Robert Schumann in seven different states. Her performances of Schumann were broadcast on WFMT, 98.7FM, KOPN Columbia 89.5FM, International Music Foundation YouTube channel and Sheldon Concert Hall YouTube channel among others. Her enthusiasm for Robert Schumann has led her to write an article “What makes Robert Schumann Schumann: Schumann’s creation of fantasy borrowed from literature, especially E. T. A. Hoffman’s novel "The Life and Opinions of Tomcat Murr.”

The first Schumann album will be released on the Sheva Collection (UK record label) in August 2021.

Reviews

“Your Schumann is outstanding. Truly inspirational performances.”

Slawomir Dobrzanski for The American Prize

"Your playing was so musical, sensitive, and full of color. Your deep understanding of each piece emotionally and structurally was very satisfying to both my heart and my mind. You gave yourself so deeply to the music that I was completely engaged by your performance and very moved by it. Your technique went beyond the typical pianistic virtuosity, displaying incredible tonal control, right down to the softest sounds. We were in a different world by the time you finished, with the audience hushed throughout and lingering in their seats at the end, even though they had deadlines to meet. Thank you for sharing your artistry with us, I would very much enjoy hearing you again."

Karin Edwards, Professor Emeritus of Piano at Wheaton College
